Retail POS solutions

Our Sorento Ideal Retail POS solution is developed in Australia and in use in thousands of sites around the country from gift shops to supermarkets. The retail POS solution provides retailers with the flexibility to enter sales via a touchscreen, keyboard or barcode scanner. With our retail POS systems, damaged barcodes can be entered manually and missing barcodes can be entered on the spot during the sale. Voids, No-Sales, Discounts and Refunds can be accessed from anywhere by staff with appropriate security priveliges. Shelf and product labels can be generated automatically with label formats to suit any size label. Retail POS systems comprise of a complete customer database, allowing you to track lay-by’s, credit notes, account and loyalty customers. New customers can be added during a sale and customers can earn loyalty points for purchases. Our retail POS systems also offer a wide range of stock and sales reports, as well as real-time stock balances across multiple stores.

Gift vouchers can be sold with the dollar value and name and direct EFTPOS integration means no more double keying of sale amounts. Scale support includes printing a barcode and then scanning at the pay-station, or direct weigh and pay deployments.

Sophisticated business intelligence reporting helps owners minimise costs by detecting supplier price increases, tracking labour costs against sales, and reporting wastage.

Retail POS systems includes free training

Sorento retail POS solutions include training for both managers and front of house staff. Our aim is to make our customers self sufficient. At Sorento, we prefer to look for new customers rather than charge our existing customers for services they could be trained to perform themselves.

Retail POS systems includes support

All Sorento solutions come with support allowing our customers to access our local support desk for any issues or questions. In addition, we encourage all our customers to connect their systems to the internet which allows our local support desk to remotely access their system and rectify issues without an on-site visit. The same technology is made available to our customers allowing them remote access to their system from any internet connected computer.

Retail POS system is made of quality hardware

Sorento only uses the best terminals and printers in the industry from companies like Toshiba, IBM, EBN, Dell and Epson. Our systems provide many years of reliable service because they can withstand the rough and tumble of hospitality. Our terminals are all splash and dust proof, and are handhelds can withstand drops.

Our solutions have an extremely low cost of ownership

This is because our systems are reliable and are ongoing support costs are extremely reasonable. Our use of high quality hardware means our customers are not burdened with high maintenance fees after their purchase. Recent research by IBM (IBM whitepaper is available on request) has found that acquisition costs only represent 32.5% of the total cost of ownership of an average POS system, and that the majority of the costs over the life of the system are related to reliability, serviceability, manageability, and environmental costs. Therefore the cost of additional services and support are a major contributor to the overall cost of a system and as such, Sorento is committed to maintaining affordable support and service rates for all its customers.
